About Us

Our Farm
Minka Farm, LLC was born in 2007. Previously a dairy farm from the 1940’s to the mid-1980’s and then a multipurpose farm, much of the infrastructure was already in place. Having been grazed intensively for so many years, the pastures were in need of some extra help. With soil testing, selective fertilizing, the addition of clover, allowing an increased diversity of forages to grow and rotational grazing, the fields are back to producing bountiful forage.
Despite the fact that it seems like we grow cows, pigs, goats and birds, we are actually just grass farmers who use our animals to serve as mowers and fertilizers.
We care deeply for the welfare of our animals and our practices are certified by Animal Welfare Approved.

What People Say
Great eggs!!
We get our eggs from Minka Farm and were lucky enough to get some duck meat from them as well last year. The chicken eggs are great and the duck eggs are even better. If you’ve never had duck eggs, I highly recommend giving them a try. Kimberly is also a real pleasure to do business with, very approachable and dedicated to producing good, healthy food.

Farm teacher at EWSGreat food, Great experience
We have really enjoyed our CSA with Minka Farm. We did the summer share and continued with the fall share because we loved the food and the experience. We’ve always had plenty of food, and it seems like we got much more value than the price paid. I liked the $ amount each week so that we had some flexibility to add or swap when quantities permitted. It wasn’t just “here’s your box, see you later.”
Kim got to know our faces and names, knew what people liked, sent out weekly emails to tell us what we were getting in our harvest, shared recipes with the members, and overall made it a very friendly “member” experience for us. We definitely felt invested in what the farm was doing, how the crops fared with bugs and heat, etc. The smaller number of total shares was perfect for us as CSA first-timers to really get involved in what we were eating.
The food itself – great quality, good variety, plentiful shares, convenient pickup. We have loved the challenge of making sure we cooked/ate everything we received for a week. If you’re not sure about the size, split it with friends. For our share, we split it with two other adults (4 total) and it was perfect.

CSA MemberMinka Farm CSA – Plump Produce; Prompt, Pleasant People
I was pleased with the variety – receiving black and diakon radishes, for example, that I had not known existed. Participation in this CSA broadened my horizons, and educated my palate. Each week included some favorite standards; most weeks included at least one “adventure”.
I was pleased with the quantity – some weeks two bags were needed to hold it all without any getting crushed.
I was pleased with the quality – if you want “wilted spinach” for a salad, you have to dry Minka’s out – it doesn’t come to you that way!
I was pleased with the promptness of the delivery, and the friendliness of all who made the deliveries.
As a plus, Minka Farms will also deliver eggs, beef, and chicken – I’ve been pleased with the animal products too.

CSA MemberMinka is Wonderful!
This was my first experience with a CSA and from the beginning Kimberly’s organization and constant communication truly made me feel a part of the Minka family. She takes great pride in her CSA and the farm/family and it shows. She is always looking for feedback and has made some fun changes for next season. Although I enjoyed all of the produce, I’d have to say my favorite had to be the arugula-the spice was beyond words!

CSA MemberConsistently Delicious
We loved receiving weekly fresh delicious produce. It was so easy to pick up and loved the variety. Kimberly sent out a newsletter letting us know what to expect in our shares and preparation suggestions. It was well worth the investment; not only in the amounts in our share but the quality was outstanding. Highly recommend this CSA.
